Sarcoidosis is a potentially fatal inflammatory
disease that can affect any organ in the body. Common symptoms include
fatigue, fever, weight loss, persistent cough, difficulty breathing,
skin rashes and swollen lymph nodes. FSR is the nation’s leading
organization dedicated to improving care for patients and to finding a
cure for this disease. Since 2000, FSR has worked to position
sarcoidosis as a growing problem on the U.S. health care agenda and
established itself as the authoritative resource for patients, health
professionals and the public.
The following programs were developed in accord with the 2009 FSR
Strategic Plan. Each reflects our goals of increasing patient and
professional knowledge about sarcoidosis and providing information and
support to patients and their families. Without dedicated funds, some
of these projects may not be implemented. Please consider
supporting a portion or all of one of these important initiatives.

Sarcoidosis & the Eyes Patient Brochure
$20,000
Goal - 10% Funded ($2000
pledged)
Sarcoidosis most commonly targets the lungs, but the disease can
also affect the eyes, a condition called ocular sarcoidosis. Researchers
who study sarcoidosis estimate that ocular sarcoidosis affects more than
25 percent of those with the disease. To prevent the most serious
complications which can include vision loss, people who have sarcoidosis
should discuss being screened for ocular sarcoidosis with their doctors.
FSR hopes to add a new publication on this topic to our library of
consumer materials. Costs include development and distribution.
A dedication page will list contributions over $1000.
