TEAM SARCOIDOSIS RAISES $25,000
AT THE 2010 HIKE FOR LUNG HEALTH

Chicago, IL (12
September 2010) For the fourth consecutive year, the Foundation
for Sarcoidosis Research joined event organizers from the
Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago and other
lung organizations at the Hike for Lung Health. This one-mile or
three-mile walk held in Chicago at Lincoln Park and in Palatine at
Deer Grove allows lung health charities to work together to
collectively raise awareness and funds for their causes.
Team Sarcoidosis (pictured above) was comprised of more than 150 FSR
supporters who raised nearly $25,000 to support lung health. FSR’s
highest fundraising team member, Anjan Chatterji, was recognized by
the crowd of several hundred event participants for his efforts, and
FSR was lauded by event organizers for returning as both the largest
and the highest fundraising team.
Team Captain and FSR President Andrea Wilson remarked, “The funds
raised by Team Sarcoidosis at the Hike for Lung Health will support
FSR’s patient education and research initiatives throughout the
year. FSR is proud to partner with the Respiratory Health
Association on this important event.”

About Sarcoidosis & FSR
Sarcoidosis (pronounced SAR-COY-DO-SIS) is an inflammatory
disease that can affect almost any organ in the body. Common
symptoms include fatigue, fever, weight loss, persistent cough,
difficulty reathing, skin rashes and swollen lymph nodes.
Sarcoidosis is often serious and can even be life-threatening,
especially if you do not know you have it. The cause remains unknown
and there is no cure.
The Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) is the nation’s
leading organization dedicated to improving care for patients and to
finding a cure for this disease. Since 2000, FSR has worked to
position sarcoidosis as a growing problem on the U.S. health care
agenda and established itself as the authoritative resource for
patients, health professionals and the public. For more information,
