When: Thursday, July 14th 2016
Time: 6:30pm - 8pm
Where: Boston Medical Center - Moakley Building (830 Harrison Avenue) - Lower Level - Radiation Oncology Waiting Room Area
Details: Once in the lobby, you can take either the stairs to the right or the elevators straight ahead to go down one flight to the Lower Level. Both the stairs and the elevators take you right to the Radiation Oncology waiting room. I will be there early to set-up the chairs and lay out some refreshments.
Please feel free to bring a snack and drink to share with the group and I'll have some treats there as well. You are welcome to bring family members or friends or perhaps another patient you know who is in need of some support.
We will have this space every second Thursday of the month from July moving forward - from 6:30 - 8:00pm.
Parking: There are metered spaces on Harrison Ave and Mass Ave; the meters are in operation only until 6pm. There are more metered spaces on Washington Street which runs parallel to Harrison Avenue (meters operate until 8pm). There is a parking garage at 710 Albany Street - $7 charge.
History: Valerie Carnes founded this support group in Boston in honor of her sister Darneese who suffered from sarcoidosis for decades. The group received a proclamation to recognize April as Sarcoidosis Awareness Month from Governor Deval Patrick of Boston, MA 2011. Melissa M. Pollard was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2004 and became the support group leader in 2015.
