Dr. Alan Cheng is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Section of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is the director of the Arrhythmia Device Service and started the cardiac sarcoidosis clinic at that the Johns Hopkins Hospital. As an arrhythmia specialist, his clinical work is restricted to managing abnormal heart rhythms and assessing an individual’s risk for sudden death. More specifically, he frequently evaluates patients with defibrillators or when there is concern for the possibility of sarcoidosis involving the heart. His research interests have focused on identifying ways to better risk stratify individuals at risk for sudden cardiac death.
