As part of FSR’s continued Wellness Series, we are excited to support sarcoidosis warriors and their care partners through our Beginning Qi Gong (Chee-Gung) Workshop Series.

If you attended one of our Summits, you may have seen our Intro to Qi Gong video. And if you attended our Pulmonary Session at the Summit, you might have heard Dr. Divya Patel, mention that breathing exercises are great for the lungs! And Qi Gong does a lot of breath-work!

All four sessions were held LIVE and included a Q&A after. The recordings can be accessed via the links below.

Session Descriptions:

Session One: Introduction to Qi Gong          60 Minutes                 Saturday, December 12th

In this introductory session, we will discuss the concepts of Qi Gong, including the translation of the words, as well as provide an introduction to the “Fire Dragon” From. Qi Gong involves movement and breath work to engender the healing Qi (chee) into our bodies. An outside observer will only see the movement of the body but not the breathing practice of the Qi Gong practitioner utilizes.

Session Two: QI Gong Shaking                      60 Minutes                 Saturday, December 19th

This session will build on what you’ve learned in lesson one, and continue to explore movement and breath practices, and how they connect to the energy in your body. We will spend time discussing the connection between movement and breath. We will continue to practice our Qi Gong Form.

Session Three: Qi Gong Middle and Closing Form    60 Minutes     Saturday, January 23

This session will recap what we’ve already learned, and focus our energy on the middle and closing portions of our “Fire Dragon” From. Each part has its role to play the practicing of your form.

Session Four: Qi Gong Fire Dragon Form      60 Minutes                 Saturday, January 30

This session, building on the sessions before it will bring to fruition a full practice Fire Dragon Form. You’ll incorporate each portion of the form you’ve learned into a full length practice. Dr. Durrani will provide additional suggestions and support for continuing your new practice.
