A clinical study in patients with pulmonary hypertension (1)

We are excited to announce that Ginger Spitzer, Executive Director for the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, will present a session at the 44th Annual NBNA Institute and Conference. FSR recognizes sarcoidosis to be a debilitating disease for which there is limited awareness. We’re proud to partner with the National Black Nurses Association to raise awareness for sarcoidosis among nurses.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Nursing: Advancing Healthcare Practices through Diversity and Collaboration.” Topics range from mindfulness to domestic abuse to specific diseases, including sarcoidosis. We are excited for this opportunity to bring sarcoidosis awareness and education to the wide span of communities that will be represented at the conference, including those with higher risk.

We know that sarcoidosis disproportionately affects certain demographics- in the US, this is especially true for black women. For more information, read this article summarizing a 2011 study published in Chest:
