FSR is announcing the postponement of the Team KISS 5K – both San Diego and Virtual Walk – that were planned for April 18, 2020.

The Team KISS 5K, initially scheduled to take place April 18, 2020 in San Diego and virtually, has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled at a later date (TBD) in light of recent public health concerns over the coronavirus, COVID-19. The decision was made with the safety and comfort of our attendees in mind. Please read below for more information for registered walkers.

Team KISS San Diego and Virtual Walkers

These events have been postponed, and updates about new dates will be forthcoming once FSR is able to confirm the new event date. All updates will be sent to the email address that you used to register for the walk, as well as posted on FSR’s website and social media. Your event registration will automatically be applied to the new event date. All registered attendees will still receive the official 2020 Team KISS t-shirt.

Other Team KISS Walkers

The decision whether or not to hold these events is made at the discretion of the walk leader. The decision to participate in a walk that is being held is up to the discretion of the registered attendees. If a walk is postponed, your registration will automatically be transferred to the new event date. If a walk is cancelled, you can choose to transfer your registration to be a Virtual Walker for the new FSR walk date and you will still receive an official 2020 Team KISS t-shirt. If you would like to cancel your registration altogether, please email FSR’s Director of Development at angela@stopsarcoidosis.org.

While there is currently still only a low risk of getting COVID-19 in most regions of the US, this decision was made after considering several factors, including the concerns of our patient community, travel advisories, and the potential that the situation with COVID-19 could evolve rapidly over the next few weeks leading up to the event. This decision was not made lightly but is considered a necessary precaution for the health and safety of our community.

Updates about the new event dates will be shared with all registered attendees and the public as they come. In the meantime, we encourage all members of our community to follow the recommendations of their care teams, local public health departments, and of the public authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.
